Constellation is looking for creative projects that prevent youth and adults from ever using nicotine products, including vapes and e-cigarettes, or that help people quit. We are especially interested in projects that reach people who may use nicotine products at higher rates or Big Tobacco specifically advertises to. Below are lists of the populations, themes, and activities we encourage projects to focus on:

Priority Populations:

• Youth
• People experiencing economic injustice
• People who did not graduate high school
• Black/African American Communities
• Hispanic/Latino Communities
• Native American/American Indian Communities
• LGBTQ+ Communities.
• Content Areas and Themes:
• Youth Nicotine Use
• Flavored Nicotine Pouches and other Flavored Tobacco Products
• E-cigarette/Vapes
• Smoke-free Workplace Laws
• Nicotine and Tobacco Screening
• Nicotine and Tobacco Cessation

Project Activities:

• Provide Resources and Educate Families on the Harms of Youth Tobacco Use (including vaping, zyn, and other nicotine and tobacco products)
• School-Based Initiatives (School-Based Culture Change, Education, Clubs, etc.)
• Culturally Relevant Education Campaigns
• Offer Evidence-Based Interventions OR Support Groups OR Mentorship for Nicotine and Tobacco Control (please reference Smoking Cessation: A Report of the Surgeon General or CDC Best Practices)
• Nicotine Replacement Therapy Education OR Training OR Workshop (including for medical providers or psychiatrists)
• Community Mobilization OR Advocacy that align with those supported by Nicotine Free New Mexico coalition (see nicotinefreenm.org)
• Screening and Data Collection on What Motivates People to Quit Smoking (or to quit other forms of tobacco use) in your Community
